High School Movie Trailer Project

High School Movie Trailer

By Ethan Moore

The scope or overview of the assignment was to recreate a High School movie trailer to the best of our abilities. Our group was assigned, The Breakfast Club. Pre-Production was hard for us because we couldn't find any actors to be in our trailer until last minute when we got Cole Bartley, Drew Faflick, and Annabelle Glasscock to be in our film. We already got Olivia and Connor to be in the video because they were apart of my group. My group composed of Kensie, Olivia, Connor, and Lucas. We finished our production schedule pretty fast, we just had to figure out the days that we can film and the days to edit and then eventually present to the class.

Production was really fun and was really cool to see how it turned out. We ended up filming in the library. Drew was the rebel, Cole was the jock, Olivia was the beauty, Annabelle was the basket case, and lastly Connor was the brain. They all worked really hard and did really well with the script. Me and Kensie worked behind the scenes and filmed the video. We didn't use a lot of props for the video, but we used a pen and got certain clothes so the people in our video would look a little  more like the people in the actual trailer. We filmed after school and worked really hard t get all filming done. Post production was probably the easiest part. I helped Kensie and Olivia with editing. Lucas worked on the credits.

Something that I would do differently is maybe work on a different movie and see how we could recreate that movie instead. Something that I would do differently is maybe have a different group to see how I would work with other people. Experiences I will draw from this is that you can use Adobe to edit the background of a clip and make it have a gradient or certain other colors.
